Cyber Security Awareness Session Conducted at NCC OTA, Gwalior

Empowering Digital Awareness Through Collaboration

On the 25th March, Vikrant University hosted a Cyber Security Awareness Session at NCC OTA, Gwalior, India’s only institution dedicated to the training of women NCC officers as a part of a collaborative effort under a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) initiative, with a goal to provide NCC cadets with the knowledge and practical application of Cyber Safety in our fast-changing digital age and to continue to fulfill the university's commitment to expand its academic support beyond the campus towards building societal awareness.

Insightful Sessions by Academic Experts

The Cyber Security Awareness session was presented by Dr Sandeep K. Tiwari and Professor Bulbul Agrawal from the University’s Department of Computer Science & Engineering. Their expert instruction provided the cadets with an overall understanding of how critical Cyber Security has become in each individual’s life and how it will continue to evolve as technology advances. Using easy-to-understand terms and real-world examples they explained the many types of Cyber Threats & Cyber Attacks that may exist throughout the Digital World.

The speakers also discussed the importance of Safe Digital Practices, which will encourage cadets to use caution and act appropriately when conducting themselves online to avoid potential Cyber Incidents. Finally, the cadets received valuable information that included how to effectively report Cyber Crimes based on the current laws in IT (Information Technology) as well as how to make use of these laws in order to further protect themselves against Cyber Crime.

Interactive Learning and Real-World Exposure

There was an incredibly engaging element to the session in its use of a learning environment that was interactive. In addition to experiencing live demonstrations to visualize identified cyber risk phenomena as they occur in real life, interactive quiz gave participants a much easier way to understand cyber risks while also encouraging participation and enjoyment during the reinforcing of major concepts.

The collaborative discussion and idea exchange that occurred throughout this session resulted in an excellent learning environment and kept all participants engaged throughout the session.

Active Participation and Positive Response

The event had over 130 cadets from NCC in attendance, in the presence of Lt Col Ashmita and other NCC officers. Participants provided very positive feedback about the session, stating that it was very informative, contained lots of details, and would be useful in aid of understanding not only cyber security, but also digital safety.

A Step Towards a Safer Digital Future

This session was an excellent example of Vikrant University's commitment to raise youth awareness regarding safe and responsible use of digital technologies as well as its ongoing efforts to build a digitally literate and secure community through such educational initiatives.
The university would like to express its gratitude to the NCC and to all members of the university administration for granting them the opportunity to contribute to cyber awareness and education.
