Event Overview:

The session was conducted by Mr. Abhay Sachan, Safety Officer, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Panipat, Haryana. He talked about his professional experience in one of India’s leading energy organizations and shared valuable insights on industrial operations, safety culture and the crucial role of safety professionals in ensuring efficient and safe work environments. During the session, Mr Sachan spoke about the importance of maintaining high standards of safety in industrial establishments and stressed upon the importance of compliance to laid down procedures and regulations. He talked about how safety professionals help identify potential hazards and then put safeguards in place to build a culture of safety awareness among employees. The speaker also spoke about the increasing opportunities available in the field of safety engineering and encouraged students to keep upgrading their knowledge and skills to stay competitive in the evolving industrial landscape. He used practical examples and professional experiences to help students better understand workplace challenges and the competencies needed for long-term career success. The students were involved in the session and had meaningful discussions. The interactive exchange of ideas was both informative and inspiring for the participants.
