School of Engineering & Technology, Vikrant University, Gwalior successfully organized a SANRACHNA Student Development Program on 12 June, 2021, through online platform. The program was organized to give students practical exposure to industry and valuable professional guidance from experienced experts in the fields of industrial safety, engineering management and automotive services.
The session was an important platform for interaction between students and industry professionals and helped the participants to have a wider perspective of current industrial practices, workplace expectations and career opportunities. The programme was part of the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and encourage holistic development of students.

Objectives:

The program was graced by two eminent industry professionals, Mr. Devesh Tiwari, Senior HSE Engineer & Functional Head, Shapoorji Pallonji Engineering & Construction and Mr. Arindam Roy, Workshop Manager & Service Engineer, Glorious Motors Pvt. Ltd. is a registered channel partner of Tata Motors Ltd.
Mr. Tiwari shared his vast experience in the field of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management during the session. He noted the increasing importance of safety culture in large-scale engineering and construction projects, and the role of safety professionals in accident prevention, risk management and regulatory compliance. He discussed the importance of proactive safety planning, hazard identification and employee awareness for safe and productive workplaces.
Mr. Roy provided us with great information regarding workshop management, automotive service operations and customer-oriented engineering practices. He talked about the technological evolutions happening in the automobile industry and the importance of service engineers in keeping the operations smooth and the customers happy.
His interaction gave students an insight into the practical challenges of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and workshop administration. Both speakers emphasized the need for continuous learning, professional discipline and adaptability in today’s fast changing industrial environment. They urged students to improve their technical knowledge, communication and problem solving skills to build a successful career in their respective fields. The interactive nature of the program allowed students to actively participate in discussions and clarify various technical and professional aspects. The sharing of ideas between the speakers and participants greatly enhanced the learning experience and made the session highly engaging and informative.
Conclusion:
The SANRACHNA Student Development Program was a very useful and enriching initiative for the students of Mechanical Engineering and Fire Technology & Safety Engineering. The expert guidance of Mr Devesh Tiwari and Mr Arindam Roy helped the participants to gain valuable insights on industrial safety management, engineering practices, workshop operations and professional career development. The program succeeded in creating meaningful interactions between academia and industry and increased students’ awareness of professional expectations and new career opportunities. Vikrant University continues to organize such impactful programs that contribute to the overall development of students and prepare them to become competent, responsible and industry-ready professionals.
